Child Protection Policy
The Child Protection Procedures follow those outlined in the Hartlepool Area Child Protection Committee file which is kept in the Head Teacher’s office. The Head Teacher is the Designated Teacher Aims: 1. To provide an environment which is physically safe and secure. 2. To establish and maintain procedures so that all school staff know how to act if they have concerns or need support regarding a particular child. 3. To be well informed about Child Protection Issues and to provide access to outside agencies when required. Guidelines: Child Protection procedures exist to aid the protection of any child suffering abuse. There are 4 main categories of abuse: Neglect (including failure to thrive) Physical Sexual Emotional All staff have an important role in the recognition and referral of Child Protection concerns. Everyone must follow the correct procedures. All Child Protection concerns are to be treated as confidential and should not be discussed openly. All records are kept in a secure place and information will be shown on a ’need to know’ basis if it will benefit the child. |
