The Early Years Environment

The Early Years Foundation Stage is based on 4 key principles:-

      Unique child.

      Positive Relationships.

      Enabling Environment.

      Learning and Development.

The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum is organized into six areas of learning:-

      Personal, Social and Emotional Development

      Communication, Language and Literacy

      Problem Solving, Reasoning and Numeracy

Knowledge and Understanding of the World

      Physical Development

      Creative Development

The Early Years Foundation Stage is divided into several work areas where young children are encouraged to learn by doing, touching, seeing for themselves, learning through play and adult initiative activities.

STARTING SCHOOL

Children begin full time education in the September of the school year that they are five. The transition from part time education to full time is easy because children remain in the same classroom and during the last half-term of part time education they are able to stay for a school lunch on several occasions. They also take part in school worship. This helps them to become even more familiar with school routine and they look forward to staying all day.

As parents/carers you will be invited to a meeting with the Head Teacher and Foundation Stage teacher and there will be an opportunity to ask any questions which you may have about the school.
