Mission Statement
Greatham C.E. Primary School aims to have an attractive
and welcoming environment.
All children from the neighbourhood are welcome whatever their
parents' beliefs.
It is distinguished by the quality of care extended to all its
members, and it promotes attitudes of mutual respect and responsibility.
The school gives high priority to the spiritual development of
its pupils and aims to give its pupils a sympathetic understanding of the
Christian faith.
A high priority is attached to the strong links between home,
school and parish.
Aims

Appreciate that courtesy, good manners and consideration for
others are important qualities.

Possess a sufficient command of basic English to be able to
communicate clearly and confidently in speech and writing, in ways
appropriate for different occasions and purposes.

Enjoy reading and develop a love of books.

Develop a knowledge and understanding of pattern and order
of number and be able to use these to solve problems in a variety of
contexts.

Be able, through experience, to appreciate the contribution
which information technology makes to our everyday life.

Develop scientific curiosity and learn to organise,
hypothesise, test, observe and validate in solving problems.

Appreciate the heritage around us through project work
involving historical, geographical and religious studies.

Learn skills in art, handicrafts and other creative
activities including music and gain pleasure from using such skills.

Enjoy physical activities, drama and movement and learn
basic recreational games skills.

Come to realise the importance of spiritual dimension in
life.
