Greatham
Church of England Primary School

Greatham Church Of England School has a school council, which is made up of ten pupil members. Elections are held annually.  Two representatives from each class make up the school council.  Once elected, the children attend twice monthly meetings, after school, to discuss a whole range of issues and ideas.  They are supported by Mrs Clasper.

The role of the school council is to put forward the views of the pupils as well as developing their own ideas. They have the responsibility of reporting back to their classes.  They sometimes lead whole school worships. The school council also work alongside our Ecology Club and the West View Project.

The School Council attend annual meetings, with other schools in Hartlepool.  This gives them the opportunity to meet and discuss various issues and put forward their own ideas.

This school council have been working hard to raise money for charity.

Children in Need

The council organised ‘A wear something spotty or yellow day’, along with a cake sale and guess Pudsey’s birthday, to raise money for Children in Need.  It was very successful, raising £240 for the charity.  Great fun was had by everyone!

They held a special worship on November 11th to raise awareness of the work of the British Legion and the history behind Remembrance Day.

  They are currently working towards:

·        Improving our indoor playtime activities

·        Supporting the Ecology Club, by making mobiles for the nature garden

·        Continuing to raise money for local charities.
